Take It - 09.06.09

Let's get the picture straight, let me paint it for you,
The reason behind my anger, comes from a time long past due.
The things that happened a few months past,
I didn't see it before,
That it still weighs on my shoulders, still knocks on my door.
Exactly what I did, I will not say,
But I suddenly became ugly, my face painted gray.
Mistake after mistake, I walked a dangerous path,
My thoughts became dark, my heart full of wrath.
As I finally found the light at the end of my darkest hall,
Upon my Heavenly Father, my heart began to call.
He filled me with his warmth, forgiveness shining true,
A part of me rejoiced, while a part was left in blue.
I did not deserve it, His love, His warmth, His pain,
He should have left me in the dust, left me in the rain.
And yet His forgiveness he did give me, though I do not forgive myself,
Satan's dark words crept inside my heart, using slyness and stealth.
The Lord's hand reaches out to me, wanting to help me make it,
Now the easiest and hardest choice I must make,
To lift my own,
And take it.

Tragedy - 08.26.09

A lonely bear came across some bees,
Thinking he was in heaven.
Asked for a taste of their honey,
Happily they gave him a comb of seven.
Loving how the honey tasted,
He came back to ask for more.
Sweetly the kind bees obliged,
They gave to him another four.
Time went on between the two,
Transactions happening again and again,
The once happy bees began to tire,
Wishing to go back to before the bear had been.
They began to sting his paws,
Thinking to drive him away,
But the bear loved the honey too much,
So he stayed day after day.
Exhausted and determined were the bees,
Leaving the forest with their honey's magic.
Though the bees found peace again,
For the bear it was more tragic.

Ballad of the Girl - 05.18.09

She came to this foreign land confused and completely friendless,
Happy faces all around her and opportunities endless.
A friend here, a friend there, things began to get better,
The outgoing, the lowly, and the exciting go-getters.
Over time a group was formed, four guys and her,
Each had their own personality and good friends they all were.
From the beginning two liked her as she began to like one,
Wasn't long 'til "they" became "we" their happiness never to be undone.
But then one fateful day a horrible injury the boy struck,
Through the struggle and the pain, they found their love was out of luck.
Enjoying each other at all times, happy they had been together,
Finding that though this true, they couldn't last all weather.
The second boy came forward then sweeping up her broken heart,
He sang her songs of how he loved her even from the very start.
She loved the second boy different from how she'd loved the first,
She felt they could make it through anything, even the very worst.
The girl saw many things, changing about them as time went on,
She found she must part with him as things were very wrong.
So the girl found herself, heartbroken and alone again,
As the first boy took his place beside her, to be a good friend.
Confused emotion filled the girl as she began to like him once more,
For awhile she had hated him, but now the first boy she does adore.
How she will bear it all, she hopes to find a way,
And so the dramatic life of a foreign girl continues on today.

I Am A Chrysanthemum - 08.30.06

I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed and ready for battle,
I wonder how long I will ride in the saddle.
I hear the strong wind as it pulls on my petals,
I see the enemy with all of its nettles.
I want to stand strong against the grazing cattle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.

I pretend I'm a warrior getting ready for war,
I feel the ground shake as the enemy approaches my door.
I touch my armor and get ready to fight,
I worry I won't be able to stand through the night.
I cry when it feels like my ship has lost its paddle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.

I understand that the world is full of hate,
I say that Satin tries to get us with his bait.
I dream that someday the sun will shine,
I try to remember the last time the rain was mine.
I hope for a time when I won't need to hide from the grazing cattle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.
