Tragedy - 08.26.09

A lonely bear came across some bees,
Thinking he was in heaven.
Asked for a taste of their honey,
Happily they gave him a comb of seven.
Loving how the honey tasted,
He came back to ask for more.
Sweetly the kind bees obliged,
They gave to him another four.
Time went on between the two,
Transactions happening again and again,
The once happy bees began to tire,
Wishing to go back to before the bear had been.
They began to sting his paws,
Thinking to drive him away,
But the bear loved the honey too much,
So he stayed day after day.
Exhausted and determined were the bees,
Leaving the forest with their honey's magic.
Though the bees found peace again,
For the bear it was more tragic.

Without a Him - 07.27.09

Never knew I could survive without a him.
Its been so complicated and so dim,
A constant flow clouding my mind,
My emotions on edge ready to grind.
Finally the chain broke, thought I would fall,
Try to get up and hit a brick wall.
But a new dawn awoke bringing new light,
A chance to heal and to do what is right.
Don't need a him, not any time soon,
Rather hang with the guys, stare at the moon.
No more confusion or time in the dim.
Never knew I could survive without a him.

She. Her. Me. - 05.13.09

Keeping an eye out for her friends, doing her best,
Impossible to hate, and easily impressed.
Moving forward even when she's knocked down,
Being who she is with blue eyes instead of brown.
Everyday a new day to try a little harder,
Realizing her dreams and getting smarter.
Loyal to her faith, family, and friends,
Years of improving, seeing a world without ends.
Helping others, wherever and whenever she can,
Using the help of others to get back up and stand.
Running a race with only herself to conquer.
She strives to accomplish her goals and to be better,
Trying to make a difference in this world of trend-setters.

Found Poem - 05.12.09

Some say the world will end in fire,
I knew that essentially nothing had changed.
She was a stranger in this world, just like him.
He would not cry in front of them again.
But until then, you never saw me.
I concentrated on being invisible...
It was a heroic shot.
The forest vibrated with the ripeness of its colors,
It was a long, quiet walk.
The night was not dark enough...

I Am A Chrysanthemum - 08.30.06

I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed and ready for battle,
I wonder how long I will ride in the saddle.
I hear the strong wind as it pulls on my petals,
I see the enemy with all of its nettles.
I want to stand strong against the grazing cattle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.

I pretend I'm a warrior getting ready for war,
I feel the ground shake as the enemy approaches my door.
I touch my armor and get ready to fight,
I worry I won't be able to stand through the night.
I cry when it feels like my ship has lost its paddle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.

I understand that the world is full of hate,
I say that Satin tries to get us with his bait.
I dream that someday the sun will shine,
I try to remember the last time the rain was mine.
I hope for a time when I won't need to hide from the grazing cattle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.

My Crafting Scissors - 2005

I am jagged and pointy, oh yes, it is true.
My favorite color is blue, yes blue, blue, blue.

I am crafty and steady, I love what I do.
All of my hard work must be way perfect and new.

You had better watch out and stay out of my way,
I'll cut off your head if you don't see what I say.

I can be joyful, happy, and Christ-like to boot,
I can be gentle, loving, and caring too.

You may think I'm just a pair of crafting scissors,
But I'm unique, and different from my sisters.
