Tragedy - 08.26.09

A lonely bear came across some bees,
Thinking he was in heaven.
Asked for a taste of their honey,
Happily they gave him a comb of seven.
Loving how the honey tasted,
He came back to ask for more.
Sweetly the kind bees obliged,
They gave to him another four.
Time went on between the two,
Transactions happening again and again,
The once happy bees began to tire,
Wishing to go back to before the bear had been.
They began to sting his paws,
Thinking to drive him away,
But the bear loved the honey too much,
So he stayed day after day.
Exhausted and determined were the bees,
Leaving the forest with their honey's magic.
Though the bees found peace again,
For the bear it was more tragic.

Found Poem - 05.12.09

Some say the world will end in fire,
I knew that essentially nothing had changed.
She was a stranger in this world, just like him.
He would not cry in front of them again.
But until then, you never saw me.
I concentrated on being invisible...
It was a heroic shot.
The forest vibrated with the ripeness of its colors,
It was a long, quiet walk.
The night was not dark enough...

Haiku 1 - 05.11.09

Seeds of life, growing.
Towards the orb of light, pushing.
Rain pouring, feeding.

Defying The Storms - 03.25.09

A little green forest begins to grow.
It isn't long before it begins to know,
the batter of storms and the fears of the snow.
Growing is difficult with so much to bare.
Feeling each of its branches begin to tear.
Losing all hope and falling into despair.
The once happy forest becomes depressed and sad,
as even the thought of a storm makes it mad.
Its anger is strong but doesn't know that its bad.
Denser the forest grows in each coming spring,
seeking protection from that evil storm being.
Sends the birds away, no longer singing.
Fortifying its trunks, pushing everything out,
no animals can live where it is dense and stout.
But finally it sees it is lonely without.
The storms battering on, seems impossible to rid,
all of the protection it built up and it did.
It could no longer react to or do as the storm bid.
As time passes, and as the forest lives on,
it is no longer dense and is now filled with song.
The storms still continue, never quite gone.
The anger is gone, and the forest still strong,
seeing and knowing that the anger was wrong.
The animals returned, the forest happily among.
Though the will may falter as the storms come,
stay strong but remember to never succumb,
to anger, another negative step on the ladder rung.

Sonnet 1 - 11.17.08

The flames burning inferno of fear,
The people's horror, an evil king crowned.
Small boy caught cries out, no one hears a sound
Fate killing nature, a silent felled tear,
The branding of a horse, how it does sear.
A hunting wolf, for life the deer doth bound,
Trees crumble; their branches fall to the ground.
An unquenchable pow'r striking hearts dear.
The clouds rolling, sign of coming rain,
A dying plant if nourished, grows again
Unfrozen river happily doth run
Waiting hospital patient declared sane,
Where happily ever after began,
Shining beacon of hope, the rising sun.

The War of Good and Evil - 02.14.07

In the forest, all was quiet, calm,
Wonderfully peaceful, warm and strong,
But then the hot flames of death arose.
Alarming, tempting, it took its pose.
The forest flamed, inferno of fear.
It burned and sizzled, enough to sear.
Forest burning, animals running,
All in all, the sight was quite stunning.
But then the great clouds of hope arrived.
Pearly, magnificent, they did thrive.
The rain fell like small droplets of light.
The flames ran and the rainbow took flight.

I Am A Chrysanthemum - 08.30.06

I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed and ready for battle,
I wonder how long I will ride in the saddle.
I hear the strong wind as it pulls on my petals,
I see the enemy with all of its nettles.
I want to stand strong against the grazing cattle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.

I pretend I'm a warrior getting ready for war,
I feel the ground shake as the enemy approaches my door.
I touch my armor and get ready to fight,
I worry I won't be able to stand through the night.
I cry when it feels like my ship has lost its paddle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.

I understand that the world is full of hate,
I say that Satin tries to get us with his bait.
I dream that someday the sun will shine,
I try to remember the last time the rain was mine.
I hope for a time when I won't need to hide from the grazing cattle,
I am a Chrysanthemum, strong willed, and ready for battle.
